WEIRD NEWS: Stoner Sign

Instead of traffic warnings, motorists driving through Orlando, Florida's Winter Park neighborhood Sunday were greeted by a portable traffic sign with a friendly reminder to: "Smoke weed erryday."

The sign was set up near the intersection of Minnesota Avenue and Clay Street, while its companion sign a few blocks down warned drivers of lane closures ahead. But it was the weed PSA that got most of the attention. Speculating that local high school students were behind the prank, one passerby remarked, "It seems like typical Winter Park vandalism to me … you see guides on the Internet on how to hack into these things."

WEIRD NEWS: Whitney Fan Kicked Off Flight

A woman was kicked off an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York and it was all because of Houston – as in Whitney Houston.

Apparently the flight crew and passengers got fed up with the woman's refusal to stop singing Whitney's "I Will Always Love You," causing the pilot had to make an emergency landing in Kansas City.

Once on the ground, the woman – who was still belting out the tune – was detained by an air marshal and escorted off the plane. The pilot asked passengers to refrain from recording video of the event, but this is America – so the clip is already up on YouTube. (Yahoo)

SCIENCE BOMB: Teen Charged With Felonies Following Bad Science Experiment

A 16-year-old student from Florida's Bartow High School will be tried as an adult on two felony charges after conducting a "work bomb" science experiment on campus.

Gawker reports student Kiera Wilmot was mixing household chemicals in a plastic bottle on school grounds when the experiment went south, causing the top of the bottle to fly off and smoke to billow. No damage was caused and no injuries were sustained.

Kiera told police that she was doing a science experiment, but her teacher told police she didn't assign such a project. While the school principal Ron Pritchard has Kiera's back, claiming she's a "good kid," she was expelled nonetheless, and will be forced to complete her diploma through an expulsion program. The local school district released a statement saying it had no choice but to uphold its code of conduct rules. Kiera was charged with possession/discharge of a weapon on school grounds and discharging a destructive device.

So - do you think she deserves this kind of penalty? I remember doing many things like this when I was a teenager. Are we going overboard in society just a litlle? -Phil
