QUEEN: You Could Be in Love With Freddie's Car
The Rolls Royce Silver Shadow that once belonged to Freddie Mercury is being auctioned off on January 12th at the AutoSport International show in Birmingham, England. He bought it in 1979 and owned it until his death in November 1991. It was then borrowed from his estate by his sister, Karishma Cooke, and has remained in her care ever since. Inside the car is still a box of tissues from when he owned it, as it was too painful for his family to remove it.

BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD: Furay's a Good Friend

This was supposed to be the year Richie Furay was going to be on tour with his old band, Buffalo Springfield. But Neil Young's decision to record and go out with Crazy Horse instead put an end to that.

Furay's misfortune ended up being good fortune for Denver-based singer-songwriter and Furay's friend, Chris Daniels, as Furay lent his distinctive vocals to Daniels' new album, Better Days.

"He's the voice of 'Kind Woman' and all of these great songs that the Buffalo Springfield did," says Daniels. "So, he sort of opens his mouth and it's like, 'Whoa, that's that noise man..." Daniels has a holiday show coming up on December 22nd in Denver, and Furay will be part of the next session of the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Las Vegas in January.

WEIRD NEWS: Dental Damn!

A Florida man who was under investigation for performing illegal dental work compounded his crimes by pausing in the middle of an exam to give a patient a peck on the cheek -- the butt cheek!

John Collazos operated his phony clinic from his apartment, and charged bargain basement prices for his work -- which makes sense, since he's not a dentist. He'd been charged with running a similar operation from inside a warehouse, but had that closed down earlier this year.

This time around, the victim says that Collazos applied a numbing paste to a painful tooth, then told her he needed her to pull down her pants so he could offer a more effective anesthetic shot -- before kissing her on the butt.  He faces a variety of charges.

ROLLING STONES: Why London Did Not Get Complete "Satisfaction"

It's very rare that The Rolling Stones don't perform their first number-one song in concert, "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," but that was the case Sunday night in London during the first of five shows this year celebrating their 50th anniversary. It's not because they didn't want to, after all, it was on the initial set list. But they ran out of time due to strict local curfew laws prohibiting the playing of live music past 11 p.m. at London's O2 Arena. Let's see if they cut another song to squeeze it in at Thursday's O2 show.

As for putting together the set list for these run of shows, the band's musical director and keyboardist Chuck Leavell says, "We have tried to look very hard at all of the various eras of the band's career and tried as best as possible to represent those eras. 50 years is a long time." As for changing the set for each of these shows, he adds, "The bottom line is that, only having a limited number of shows, obviously we're not gonna go crazy with swapping around songs... In other words, we don't want to go too too deep at this juncture."

Keith Richards is featured tonight on ESPN's Monday Night Football, introducing the band's 1986 song, "One Hit (To the Body)," which shows highlights of the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles interspersed with footage of the Stones' video for the song.

LED ZEPPELIN: Page Speaks On Upcoming Bonus Material

Jimmy Page has provided more details about the kind of bonus material that'll be added when his remastered versions of Led Zeppelin's catalog are rolled out starting next year. He tells Rolling Stone that it "will be really substantial stuff" and not "any old flotsam and jetsam."

Although there aren't thought to be many unreleased songs, Page says there are "different versions of things [and] different approaches to the mixes" that will enable fans to "witness the work in progress" of the band's classic albums. He also mentions plans to mine the band's archive of live recordings and possibly even include bonus film footage. He sums up the band's entire catalog -- both released and unreleased --by saying, "all of it is good. It has its own character and validity."

CASEY ANTHONY: Detectives Overlooked Suffocation Searches

Investigators looking into the disappearance of Casey Anthony's two-year-old daughter overlooked evidence that someone on her home computer did a Google search for suffocation methods on the day that Caylee Anthony was last seen alive.

On Sunday, Orange County, Florida sheriff's Captain Angelo Nieves said that the office's computer investigator missed the search, conducted on June 16th, 2008.  According to Orlando TV station WKMG investigators only checked the computer's Internet Explorer browser, but not the Firefox browser that Anthony favored. Its history contained more than 1,200 entries, including the searches for suffocation techniques.

EDDIE MONEY: Loves Tailgating in Oakland

Eddie Money may be a native New Yorker, but the Oakland Raiders are his football team. The veteran rocker spoke to CBSsports.com after performing for tailgaters before a recent Raiders home game. He simply loves the atmosphere outside the stadium nicknamed the Black Hole. "Everybody gets really dressed up and every Sunday to us is like the most important day of the week."

The warm weather, even as the calendar moves toward December, makes it more fun compared to some other towns. Money says, "When they tailgate back in Pittsburgh or St. Louis, everything's like frozen chicken. The best place in the world to tailgate is Oakland, California."

The Rolling Stones kicked off their 50th anniversary celebration Sunday night at London's O2 Arena by turning in a 25-song set. Opening with Lennon and McCartney's "I Wanna Be Your Man," they ended two-and-a-half hours later with "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction."

ROLLING STONES: Watts Great?

Charlie Watts tells us that he has been asking for months and months to see the track listing for The Rolling Stones' new best-of collection, GRRR! When he finally did, which was just two weeks ago, he said, "God, that one again and that one...?" But he adds that he is impressed with the fourth disc that comes with the 80-track Super Deluxe Edition. "It looks, on paper, [as if there is] quite interesting stuff... Some stuff from the BBC and all those old things." Among the old things are vinyl EPs and demos.

The Stones are in London running through the full stage production for their two shows at the O2 Arena on Sunday and again on November 29th, followed by on in Brooklyn, New York and two in Newark, New Jersey in December.

LED ZEPPELIN: Houses of the Holy Crap

If you are a diehard Led Zeppelin fan and picked up a copy of their new concert DVD, Celebration Day, which was released on Monday, then study it closely and perhaps you too, like Jason Bonham, will see something that he says was also in the band's first concert film, The Song Remains the Same.

He says when he was playing with Zeppelin at that 2007 reunion show in London, there was a moment when he thought, "Wow, I'm playing with Led Zeppelin." But it was a look that bassist John Paul Jones shot at him during the performance of "No Quarter" that reminded him of The Song Remains the Same. "He gave me the look and it probably wasn't probably for the same reason that he did [give it to] dad, but it was very, very special for me."

Jones is not sure of the look, but jokes that it was the "'Where are we?' look."

Celebration Day is also available on Blu-ray, CD and vinyl.

ELO: British Farmers Found Not Guilty in Edwards Death

A pair of British farmers have been found not guilty in connection with the death of ELO cellist Mike Edwards.

The musician was killed in September 2010, when a half-ton bale of hay rolled down a field and landed on his van near Devon, England. The BBC reports that Brian Burden and Russell Williams were cleared of charges to make a proper risk assessment of the bale, which rolled over a fence to cause the fatal accident.

TWINKIES: Could Survive Bankruptcy

When the news broke late last week that Hostess Brands was shuttering their operations, Twinkies fans took to social media to bemoan the death of their favorite snack cake and rushed to stores to get the last remaining boxes. Well, it turns out that there may not be a need to go on a Zombieland-like quest for the last box of Twinkies.

Hostess Brands will be in bankruptcy court in New York on Monday to start selling off their assets. One of those assets likely to be picked up by another snack-maker is Twinkies, which have brought in about $68 million in revenue this year.

University of Michigan Law School professor John Pottow, who specializes in bankruptcy, says, "It's quite conceivable that they can sell the name and recipe for Twinkies to a company that want to make them."

PAUL McCARTNEY: Give the Turkeys Back to the Farm (audio)

Paul McCartney, on behalf of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), has taken part in a new advertising campaign in which he is seen wearing an "Eat No Turkey" T-shirt beneath the slogan, "Celebrate Life This Holiday Season, Go Vegetarian." He has also provided the voice over for the group's latest campaign video about the meat industry titled "Glass Walls." in which he says, "If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian."

Being English, McCartney does not celebrate Thanksgiving, but on Christmas he says he has a veggie roast. "The roast is perfect. It's completely vegetarian, but I can slice it, so I can do all my traditional dad things. We can do our family stuff with it, and it's delicious, so I much prefer that to my memory of turkey."

LED ZEPPELIN: Will 20-Million Celebrate By Buying It?

On Monday, Led Zeppelin will finally release their 2007 reunion concert on CD, vinyl, DVD and Blu-ray. Celebration Day captures that December 10th, 2007 show at London's O2 Arena for which more than 20-million people tried to buy tickets. Billed as a tribute to the late Ahmet Ertegun, founder of Atlantic Records, there was talk that it would also include The Rolling Stones and Cream, but in the end it was just Zeppelin, with a short opening set from Foreigner.

Looking back on that night, Jimmy Page says, "We all played our hearts out." Robert Plant adds, "That night, we were just hanging on for dear life...and really enjoying it and taking beyond what we thought we were about."

With Jason Bonham on drums in place of his late father John Bonham, and of course John Paul Jones on bass, it was Zeppelin's first public performance since 1988 and their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.

JEFF LYNNE: Questioned By the Police

For the second time in two months, the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles hosted an evening with Jeff Lynne. Among those in the audience at Wednesday night's events was Stewart Copeland, drummer in The Police.

During the question-and-answer session, he raised his hand and asked, "With all the guitarists in the Traveling Wilburys, how did you choose who got the solo?"

According to the night's moderator, Cynthia Fox from L.A. radio station KLOS, "Jeff was very diplomatic and said, in essence, that he would defer to George Harrison on that."

In addition to Harrison and Lynne, the other guitarists in the Wilburys were Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison.

PETER FRAMPTON: A Fresh Take on Alive (audio)

In 2011 and earlier this year, Peter Frampton toured the world in celebration of the 35th anniversary of his landmark Frampton Comes Alive album. He filmed two shows -- one in Milwaukee and the other in New York -- and the result is a two-DVD set released this week.

He says the reason for it was because there is no film from that original tour."No, it's not the '70s, but it is those numbers and we did create the feel and the audience helped that... I think a lot of people went back to the '70s and never came back."

In addition to the tracks from the classic album, this collection also contains songs from his last two albums -- Thank You Mr. Churchill and the Grammy Award-winning Fingerprints.

BLACK FRIDAY CREEP: Employees Fight Back

Black Friday creep isn't just a term people use for a rude shopper that cuts in line; it's the phenomenon that's happening in retail in which Black Friday sales are starting earlier and earlier. Now employees are fighting mad because the sales are cutting into their Thanksgiving family time.

One such chain, Target is opening at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving meaning that Casey St. Clair of Corona, California, won't be able to spend the night eating dinner and relaxing with her boyfriend and his family. "It shouldn't have to be a rushed affair, slipping in to eat some turkey and taking a piece of pie for the road," she says.

And other chains are opening even earlier. As of now, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Sears and K-Mart are set to open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Wal-Mart workers are so upset over the plan; they're planning a walk out.

PORN AT McDONALD'S: Upsets Mom

A mom, her eight-year-old son and her ex-husband recently received a rude awakening at a Toronto-area McDonald's when they heard a customer next to them engaging in an explicit web chat.

Jill-Anne Hopkins, her son and ex were dinning on cheeseburgers when they heard a sexy woman's voice say, "I want you to come over here and f--- me." Startled by the request, Hopkins looked around and realized a man in the next booth with chatting with a topless woman on a webcam sex site. Her son asked who said those words and Hopkins responded, "Someone with a bad potty mouth who doesn't realize there are children at McDonald's."

Although the 43-year-old Hopkins moved her family over to another table, she could still hear the sex-cam sweetheart say, "By the way, tell that broad to go f--- herself. Did she hear me or should I say it louder?"

Hopkins complained and the manager came over and spoke to the man in his mid-20s, but they didn't apologize. McDonald's Canada said it's impossible to know if the man was using their free Wi-Fi, another network or a wireless stick, but there are filters to prevent the viewing of offensive material on the restaurant's network and customers that access their Wi-Fi must agree to their terms and conditions, which include not viewing porn.

Several Fortune 500 companies that rely on the US Postal Service are lobbying for a fix from Washington DC. A spokesperson said (quote) “If Congress fails to act, there could be postal slowdowns or shutdowns that would have catastrophic consequences.”

LANCE ARMSTRONG: Cancer Charity Erases His Name

Disgraced cycling champion Lance Armstrong has officially been erased from the charity he helped found in 1997. In recent weeks, Armstrong has been stripped of most of his titles and his corporate sponsors have fled. Last month, he stepped down as the Livestrong Chairman of the Board, and resigned from the Board of Directors.

LED ZEPPELIN: Tick, Tick, Tick

Jimmy Page thought that in the five years since Led Zeppelin reunited in 2007 at London's O2 Arena that they would have gotten together for another show or two, but with the passage of time it looks more and more likely that it won't happen again.

Jason Bonham adds, "As much as Robert Plant says how great a player I am, to him, Led Zeppelin really was John Bonham on drums and it was something they had together... It's never about the money. It has to be a feeling."

So for now, Monday's release of that 2007 concert, Celebration Day on DVD, CD and vinyl, will have to do.

Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience is in Montclair, New Jersey on Thursday.

ROLLING STONES: Keith's Grin Says it All

Since we caught up with Keith Richards last month in London, he tells us The Rolling Stones are now in "fifth gear" in terms of their rehearsals. "This band is ready to go," he says. So does that mean we'll see them tour next year? "I'm forbidden" from saying, Richards said Tuesday night in New York with a smile on his face that indicated they will. "My lips are sealed. But once this thing starts to roll it's hard to stop."

The Stones are now heading back to London for production rehearsals for their two shows later this month at the O2 Arena there followed by three in the New York City-area in December.

PETRAEUS SCANDAL: General Allen's eMails Like ‘Phone Sex’

The General David Petraeus sex scandal has quickly become a “Love Pentagon”. Five players are now embroiled in the allegations of marital infidelity and inappropriate communications.

GENE SIMMONS: No More Groupies for Me

Gene Simmons has sworn off groupies! The rock and roll legend who claims he slept with 4800 women -- before marrying wife Shannon Tweed last year -- says he's not in the market for number 4801! He tells News Corporation's Australian Division, "At some point, every guy has got to get over his selfishness and arrogance and lying. Imagine a scenario where you get to be an a-hole for 28 years, and there's a magical woman, an angel, who's been there with you every year and waited that long." With KISS promoting a down under tour beginning March 5th in Melbourne, Simmons seems very comfortable as the faithful family man. "I took a hard look in the mirror. She raised our children and made a great home with peace and quiet and a happy life. All I did was make the money. She was the woman who did all the heavy lifting and got none of the credit.''

MATT LAUER: 'Brand is Damaged'

NBC is re-vamping their morning show. “Today” has suffered a ratings slide and several setbacks due to personnel shifts that have not set well with viewers.

What remains constant is Matt Lauer, and now some within the NBC hallways are willing to say that that’s exactly the problem. They say Lauer has jumped the shark, is past his prime, and is no longer a “brand” that Americans want to regularly watch.

A former NBC News exec told the New York Daily News yesterday (quote) “This problem is not going to go away until Matt Lauer does. He’s great, but fairly or unfairly, his brand is damaged.”

WHY BAD EMPLOYEES DON’T GET FIRED

Everybody works with people that are either incompetent or simply unbearable. It’s sometimes a mystery why companies don’t just fire these fools, isn’t it?

According to human resources experts, here are some reasons that bad employees often stick around …

  • Employee has a relationship with a head honcho – The relationship doesn’t even have to be romantic or family. Many times, it’s just a friendship.

  • Employee’s value to the company is worth the hassle – High producers in the workplace can often get away with more because they are considered superstars. If they make the company a ton of money, they can pretty much do what they want, whether you like it or not.

  • The boss thinks it could be worse – The devil your bosses know could be better than the devil your bosses don’t know.

  • The boss is afraid of the employee – If the boss is afraid an employee might sue the company, it might take longer to get him or her out the door. And then there’s always the fear of somebody “going postal” when given the bad news …

  • The boss doesn't want to go through the hiring process – Hiring and training people takes a lot of time and effort. Your boss might be too lazy or tired to tackle the challenge.

  • The employee knows something – Blackmail is fun, isn’t it? Don’t you wish YOU knew something? Then you too could spend all day goofing off and annoying people! (FabJob.com)

THE SOCIAL NETWORK: Facebook Friends Make You Fat, Broke and Lazy

While being popular on social media sites can boost your ego and self-esteem, having lots of Facebook friends can also make you fat, broke and lazy.

Researchers have found that being the king of social media also disrupts your self-control, causing you to over-eat, over-spend and under-exercise.

When your ego is pumped by all your adoring “friends” on Facebook, you feel good and can rationalize ordering dessert or buying something you don’t really need.

“I feel good today,” you tell yourself. “I deserve a treat.”

And, the next thing you know, you’re fat, broke and lazy. (Times of India)

C.I.A SEX SCANDAL: Investigation Escalates Overnight

The FBI has expanded their investigation into the David Petraeus affair. In the middle of the night, FBI Agents raided the North Carolina home of his confessed mistress, Paula Broadwell. Witness report that several boxes of evidence were removed, including her personal computers and notebooks. Broadwell wrote the biography of Petraeus called "All In."

Meanwhile, in Afghanistan, where General Petraeus once served honorably, his replacement 4-Star General John Allen is suddenly swept into the fray.  He’s become a player in the investigation for possible “inappropriate” contact with Jill Kelley. She’s the target of those threatening emails -- coming from Broadwell -- which launched the investigation in the first place.

On the surface, it appears the two women were rivals, but possibly had one thing in common: The hots for top military brass.

THINGS WE HAVE LEARNED FROM WATCHING MOVIES

The latest James Bond movie Skyfall hits theaters this weekend. Sure, it will be fun to watch, but it also could be educational as it will teach you how to fight and score hot women.

Other movies can also be educational, of course. Here’s a rundown of things we’ve learned from watching movies:

1. The ventilation system of any building is the perfect hiding place. No one will ever think of looking for you in there, and you can travel to any other part of the building you want without difficulty.

2. A man will show no pain while taking the most ferocious beating but will wince when a woman tries to clean his wounds. And, the wound-cleaning usually leads to sex.

3. All bombs are fitted with electronic timing devices with large red readouts so you know exactly when they’re going to go off.

4. Detectives can only solve cases once they have been suspended from duty.

5. Women can never find their car keys while being pursued by a killer. Once they do find them, they’ll fumble the keys, giving the killer enough time to reach the car and pound on the window.

6. When someone puts a baby down to bed, that baby coos and smiles, and then just goes right off to sleep. It’s amazing.

7. Most police investigations will require at least one visit to a strip club. (CavemanCircus.com)

ELECTION: Where Disgruntled Voters Say They’re Moving

When every election ends, roughly half of the country is happy – while the other half is unhappy. That’s just part of being in a democracy.

So is the ritual of fans of the losing party threatening to leave the country - and then not leaving.

For example, Alec Baldwin and Barbra Streisand threatened to leave the country if Bush won in 2004. Bush did win. Neither Alec nor Barbara actually left.

Well, this election was no different. Plenty of people claimed they were moving if President Obama was re-elected. Only this time, they were able to express their plans on Twitter.

After the election was called for Obama on Tuesday night, there was a spike in tweets about moving to Canada. Australia came in second, followed by ... Colorado – which, curiously, is still part of the United States.

Odds are people didn’t say they were moving to Colorado because of the Obama victory, but instead because Colorado voted to allow recreational use of marijuana. (Yahoo News)

ROD STEWART: Parlays HSN Stop Into Top 3 Debut

Rod Stewart's record-breaking sales on home-shopping channel HSN has helped propel his Merry Christmas Baby album to a number-three debut on the Billboard 200, with with nearly 90,000 copies sold, according to the latest SoundScan figures. Stewart's effort was surpassed only by the second week sales of Taylor Swift's Red and the debut of rapper Meek Mill's Dreams and Nightmares. With his PBS TV special still to come, Merry Christmas Baby seems poised to become one of this holiday season's biggest sellers.
